What is performance psychology?Performance psychology is a subdivision of psychology focusing on the psychological factors that affect human performance. We identify performance limitations and apply evidence-based psychological principles to facilitate peak performance and achieve your potential.

How does performance psychology work? Why is it that in practice, when nobody is watching, you can score the penalty, putt the ball under par or perform effortlessly? Yet in competition, when it really matters, you cannot perform the same skill? Why is it that you can flawlessly deliver your presentation when rehearsing but get anxious and crumble in front of an audience? This is often the result of self-imposed psychological limitations such as performance anxiety, failing to perform under pressure and fear of failure. We all have a gap between what we're capable of and what we're capable of delivering on demand in certain situations. It's often not a physical or skill gap because we can successfully perform in training. The problem lies when we're not able to access a certain skill set when it matters because of the presence of factors like pressure or anxiety in given contexts or environments. Now imagine if you could perform at your best, all of the time, in any situation. We work to explore and reduce that gap, identifying performance limitations and applying evidence-based psychological principles to remove the self-imposed roadblocks to facilitate peak performance, on demand.

Who can benefit from performance psychology?Anybody looking to improve their performance. This encompasses those who require emotional control or perform in the most pressurised situations, to those looking to change their behaviour and develop better habits. Just as you would train a physical skill, you need to train psychological skills to stack the odds in your favour for success. Specifically: - Athletes - Performers - Military personnel - Emergency services - Pilots - Businesses
